Terri has practiced dental hygiene clinically and as faculty in area dental hygiene programs for a few decades. She provides continuing education both locally & nationally on the correlation between oral & general health. In both dental hygiene and myofunctional therapy, she values a holistic approach to health & enjoys being a part of her clients’ journeys toward improved general health via breathing & orofacial musculoskeletal function.
Course Objectives
- Review the high prevalence of Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB)
- Associate increased risks for comorbidities
- Discuss orafacial developmental factors that contribute to a smaller airway
- Integrate screenings & assessments into the DH process of care
- Explore the gold standard for the treatment of SDB
